Hindsight has nothing to do with it

Worthington himself said that Jarrett and Hughes were so similar that they could not play in the same side - so similar in fact that it was preferable to play an elderly s**t left-back with a bad attitude in midfield rather than combine them. There was no case to be made for signing Hughes just a month after signing Jarrett.
