If he fails in the championship then people will be saying Knapper is the weak link. If he succeeds then they’ll be saying it’s clearly Farke who is the key player and not the sporting director. Either way it would take an unlikely shelving of ego to bring him in.

Also it would probably mean the end for Wilshere at Norwich and it feels like he is a personal Knapper project.

On top of that I don’t see Farke coming back anyway. Wouldn’t feel like career progression and surely he would have other offers.
