The idea that we only played youth because Fazzy, Barnes, Hanley was injured is a nonsense. They didn't get near the team even when fit (Hanley especially) and were subsequently released.

Players who are 21 or under who have played this season:

Reyes, Doyle, McConville, Chrisene, Mahovo, Fisher, Wright, Forsyth, Jurasek, Schwartau, Crnac, Myles, Hills, Gordon and Kamara.

Thorup has given 13 of those 15 players their Norwich debuts. This doesn't include other youth players who have been on the bench but not played.

Thorup is on record as saying some young players have played more games than he would have liked due to injuries, but the idea that we haven't played youth players out of choice is a nonsense I am afraid. If anything we have played too many. Thorup was literally brought into the club to develop and play young players which we could then sell on. The question is whether that model is compatible with being successful.
