Coaches are overrated....part 72

I just find it strange the over reaction both ways.

Coaches are treated like the second coming when everything is going right but when it goes wrong people think the answer to all the issues is to sack them.

Their success will always be down to the players/recruitment.

JHT clearly has a way he wants to play but as I have mentioned before we may be asking players to do something they don't have the quality to do so on a consistent basis.

IMHO, an area of major criticism is recruitment.
I think we eventually got it right by getting rid of a lot of the dead wood but we may have overspent on the likes of Crnac and Jurasek.
A huge chunk of our budget on two players who are a bit unproven.

We do have two of the better players in this division in Sarge and Borja but both have missed substantial time due to injury and indiscipline.
The latter two issues can also be linked back to recruitment for all players.

I know my Haterz like to froth every time I mention that Hoff almost never plays Crnac as a 9 while Knapper claims he is a 9.

It's not because I think Crnac is a bad player (I think he is pretty decent, maybe not worth what we payed for him?)....it's because I think the squad imbalance is a huge red flag.(Shit ton of wingers, few strikers)
It's so strange that we know Sarge is limited to minutes yet we never brought in any cover.

I keep asking the question, do we not have any youth or academy players who can give us minutes up front?

If so that's a real worry.
What's the point of the academy and u21 system if we are not producing players for the mid table champs level.

We have very inexperienced owners who are learning on the job and have placed their faith in a SD and Coach who are totally unproven at this level.

Coaches always get the blame for everything because you can't sack the players or owners for a short term fix the fans are looking for.
