Football fans demand results (regardless of whether they are realistic)

Fans would have lost patience and hounded him out. It was already starting.

Say he had somehow survived (which I’m 100% sure he wouldn’t), he would have started the following season with a squad with far less quality than his previous two championship squads and very little fan goodwill.

Putting to one side whether the club would have sacked him, there is also the question of whether he would have wanted to stay for another championship campaign. Hardly a certainty he would have.

So putting that altogether, there’s maybe a 0.01% chance he could still be here.
