Please explain how saddling ourselves with debt for a new stadium would help us win things

Name some similar sized club who have won stuff mainly because they built a new stadium (rather than because their owners pumped in hundreds of millions of pounds to buy players). Bournemouth seem to be doing fine with a stadium rather smaller than ours.
