JHT on team news: “Emi Marcondes is still out for this one. Kenny (McLean) remains a doubt. He is struggling to breathe in the warm-up, so we need to do some tests. Marcelino (Nunez) won’t be ready as he’s got a swollen ankle after that tackle.”
JHT on Marcelino Nunez: “He was quite emotional after the game. Saturday is too soon for him (Hull). Thankfully, nothing is broken, so he needs some rest. It feels like there’s a curse with our midfielders this season.”
*Onel Hernandez is back doing light training, but likely won’t travel to Hull.*
JHT on Preston North End: “The same feelings (as after the game). In moments we were okay, but on the whole we weren’t aggressive enough and didn’t get the movements right. It wasn’t a good game for us.”
JHT: “We have to be able to change based on the opposition from time-to-time. But it’s more important we have a base foundation that we use and if we do it well, then we can beat any team in the league.”
JHT on Hull test: “There is always a next game, which is the beauty of this league. We need to go out there and show we are a better team. But we must get the structure right.”
JHT on Hull City: “Looking at their results, they can get a great result like at Sheffield United and then lose 2-1 at home to Stoke. But their way of playing remains the same. Apart from last night against Burnley.”
JHT on Abu Kamara: “I think he’s a good player. The plan for us was to keep him here, but he had a wish to move on. He’s a great dribbler and his left foot is good. I think everybody here hoped he would succeed, but not on Saturday.”
JHT on Lewis Dobbin: “That wasn’t his best performance and neither was Derby. He done some good things against Watford and Swansea. He gives us some pace on the counter and he’s a different option.”
JHT on the defence: “I think we are in a good place defensively, I also think we have improved in this area. We are getting closer to being at average of one goal conceded in the past 10-15 games.”
