JHT on Jacob Wright: “He was a player we quite early in the window discussed as he’s a good player. He’s a perfect fit for the way we want to play football and his character is great. Then it wasn’t realistic half way through the window because of the price.”

JHT on Jacob Wright: “Then late in the window we could do a deal of a loan with an option to buy, so it was a no brainier. Good young players will see this club as a good opportunity for them.”

JHT on Jacob Wright: “He’s not a hard tackler type of number six. But he can cover ground and is a different player compared to the other midfielders we have. You will see this when we put him on. He’s young and hungry. He really wanted to come here.”

*JHT confirms that Jacob Wright is in a position to be in the squad for tomorrow. Likely to be on the bench. *

JHT on Ruairi McConville: “He’s a good size for a Championship defender. His first six months will be about bedding in and getting some minutes.”

JHT on new signings: “Often young players arrive hungry and want to get in there. They want to take everything out of a training session. They are so eager to learn and take the next steps in their careers. I don’t need to push them.”

JHT on transfer window: “I think it was good and we can be satisfied with the window. It’s good as we have signed players for now and the future. Some of the players where they were asking for more game time we could find other clubs for.”

*Matej Jurasek arrived on Tuesday and “is really eager to get out there and play.”

He will be involved tomorrow.*

JHT on Matej Jurasek: “We don’t put too much pressure on him. He will be great for this football club. He wants the ball and so many things can happen, that is what we need.”

JHT on Slimane and Nunez: “He trained all week and will be involved tomorrow. This is the same for Nacho (Nunez). We are getting there Paddy (while banging the table in delight).”

JHT on Slimane and Nunez: “Potentially they could both start. But we need to remember we play on Tuesday, so we might rotate. We need to plan for both games. This is the same for Josh (Sargent) and not making him play 90 minutes and more 90 minutes.”

*Onel Hernandez is still missing with knee issues and is likely to be out until post-Hull (A). No further issues aside from Forson, Gibbs, Forsyth, Mair and Springett *

JHT on Jose Cordoba: “No issues regarding that. There was a consequence but we were there to support him.”

JHT on Tom Cleverley’s comments: “I think it’s fantastic that managers single out our players. I take it as a huge compliment. People are talking about us.”

JHT on Derby County: “Concentration playing against a team like that must be on a top level. We cannot predict the results. If we are at our best and 100% concentrated then we should win the game.”

JHT on play-off race: “All coaches look at the standings, but some don’t take too much notice and I’m one of those. I can see we are getting better, so it’s realistic for us to go up there. It’s only one bad performance and result to be further away again.”
