It does feel like a Civ game, with elements for 5 and 6 in particular, plus some I recognise form other games. Not far enough in to be at the one more turn feeling yet.
I agree with some of the comments I have read in reviews, eg about how difficult it is to see what you have in your city because the buildings don't stand out. There were some fixes at launch that improved elements but I think it will be a few months before it goes for being OK to really good, maybe with some mods, particularly on the interfaces.
Lots of people commenting on reviews about how it is overpriced and undercooked and people are going to wait years before they buy it at much reduced price. That is up to them. I would rather be playing it in those years and it is playable enough from my early taste, that I am not worried about it not developing, particularly with so many modders out there. Also, at my age it is a bonus if you wake up in the morning, you can't wait years for things to be exactly as you want.
