We await the boss for his thoughts ahead of NCFC’s clash against Millwall 🎅

HT confirms same players available as was at Sunderland apart from Cordoba, who is suspended
JHT on Angus Gunn FA charge: “Brilliant! Christmas has started. Finally, the clarity we asked for.”
JHT on Josh Sargent: “He is back on the grass, but will need some time.”
JHT on Liam Gibbs: “A handful of weeks away, so he will need time”
JHT on Forson: “He is an investment for us. We tried him on the right, he done okay, but without being outstanding. He’s still struggling a bit with the physicality and intensity of the league. We decided to look at some other players. He will adapt.”
JHT on Sunderland: “I think a very good first half. Our defensive structure looks better and much more solid, but I still want us to create more chances. It was a tough place to go, as they have an unbeaten home record. The second half wasn’t good enough.”
JHT on the defence: “If we look back at the Cardiff, Bristol (City) and Sheffield (Wednesday) games we were not us. Against Sunderland and Burnley we were ourselves, but because we lose the games it feels much bigger.
JHT on concentration: “Everything is coaching and I believe in that. If you are unprepared then you will suffer and more than we do at the moment. It’s about finding that balance, as we don’t have an unlimited number of hours.”
JHT on halfway point in the season: “It’s been a long season so far.” 🤣
JHT: “I accept where we are. I think we could have had more points and I would have wished to have Kenny (McLean) available for more games. There’s a lot of new players and new information.”
JHT: “I enjoy it as it’s a lovely place full of lovely people. We try to change and educate by creating dilemmas, and they see some of the team meetings are different to what they’ve experienced before. 80% has been good and 20% less so good.”
JHT on Millwall: “We have to be defensively solid. It will come down to how we manage the game on the ball, as that will decide the game for us.”
JHT on Christmas plans: “Of course we are (in at Colney). You get to celebrate Christmas with teammates and coaching staff, but we make the schedule so they can eat dinner with families.”
JHT on Christmas: “I wake up at 6:30am and have a coffee. Then I drive here to have breakfast and meet the players. We discuss Millwall and then we train. Then somewhere in the afternoon we go home to our families.
I’ve planned for having dessert tomorrow.”
JHT: “In Denmark we have Christmas dinner tonight. I will be there when I have time.”
