Would be lovely

Horse was a wind up merchant. He played on the edge. He’d crash into defenders with his body (never an arm/elbow) and wallop them over. He’d then crumple like a deckchair when the defender game some back and won countless free kicks. He’d walk the line, but he never looked like he’d lost it.

I’ve also been thinking about Madders as he’s playing now. Goes down very easy. Buys free kicks. Winds up opposition players and fans sometimes. But he takes some whacks every game, and never seems to lose his s**t. He seems to accept it as part of the game.

Getting whacked is part of the game. Refs making mistakes is part is part of the game. Players cheating the ref is part of the game. All these things seem to trigger histrionics from too many in our squad. It’s my job to lose it and shout and scream and want people to get sent off or smacked. These are not thing a pro player should ever fall into.
