Press news in...

We await the boss for his thoughts ahead of NCFC’s trip to Sunderland.
-----------------------------------------------------------

JHT on Jacob Sorensen: “Probably back on Saturday. We just need to test him with a good session tomorrow.”

JHT on team news: “Nope. They are all ready.”

JHT on Angus Gunn: “We have to respond and find out how clear the evidence is, and what they’ve seen. Then we can give that proper response. We then work out how we respond, we want to know before Saturday.”

JHT on the FA: “We were not happy with the treatment of us and Kenny (by the FA). We have to also accept we are in a league with rules and if there’s a case then we have to accept it.”

JHT on the FA: “What’s important is we clarify the rules. Giving a suspension on the day of a game wasn’t good enough. We need to make clear rules of what we can expect in this busy period.”

JHT on timescales of FA charges: “It’s a little bit random. At some point it will happen to other clubs, we need to plan with whether a player is in or out.”

JHT on Burnley game: “We always have team meetings every morning. We present clips and the training schedule for the day. We try to create an environment where we learn and for that to happen I need to hear from the players. We try to open up the room, so questions are asked.”

JHT on fine margins: “I don’t think with respect, that lower teams would score the goals Burnley did. Before the game started, I said to the boys it’s a good test for us. I also saw based on that game where we need to improve, so we can compete and beat those teams.”

JHT on homegrown players: “No, I don’t think so. It’s something we always have to have in mind. We have to think about homegrown players, but that market for us needs to be younger players. The older players are too expensive.”

JHT on transfer window: “I think we have some good players and midfielders going forward, but I think we could do with a midfielder to cover those that go forward. It’s a role we are looking for, so that group of midfielders is as different as possible.”

JHT on Sunderland: “I think when you are in a league and compete against clubs with a bigger budget, that’s when you need to be different. Sunderland are a good example, they play really well and in my opinion the best transition team in the league.”

JHT: “Sometimes we need to isolate the result and look what was going on in the game picture from minute 1 to 90. We need to take the learning out it, so we can be better when we face something similar in the future.”

JHT: “I love being here on a Monday even we lose, as there’s always something to learn.”

JHT on Xmas schedule: “It’s fantastic. I’ve sat there on my couch at 10 years old and watched English football and now I’m part of it. I told my wife to prepare the food and I’ll eat with the family when I’m back, they just wait for me with the dinner.”
