🎙️ Johannes Hoff Thorup will address the media at 1⃣:3⃣0⃣pm ahead of NCFC's clash against Burnley on Sunday ----------------------------------------------------
JHT on team news: “No, not really. We have the usual guys out like Josh (Sargent), but nobody else from Tuesday night. Now it’s about load management.”
JHT on Kenny McLean: “You never become professional enough to leave your emotions out. You are a professional when you can open up about your emotions. It’s been tough for Kenny, he’ll have been missing for 30% of games.”
JHT on discipline: “We try to create an intensive and defensive game where we try to create high pressing moments and sometimes that can be too aggressive.”
JHT on Portsmouth game approach: “We had to get a point, which was important for us. We wanted three points. But we needed that after the experience on Saturday. We are still learning here and not everything is perfect. We need to find consistency. That will never be my favourite type of game.”
JHT: “We had a longer meeting from the data guys yesterday about the stats. There’s a big difference to where we are now. What we find now is teams know we like to be on the ball, so they sit deeper. I still like us to be better building up from goal-kicks.”
JHT on Kaide Gordon: “It can change because I select the 20 players who are the best players to win the game. It’s always my words to the players who aren’t in the team to keep the same high standards. As a football team we need more than 20 players. It’s a natural thing.”
JHT on Kaide Gordon: “I won’t consider now if he will go back in January (to Liverpool).”
JHT on January window: “No, I’ve not had time (to think about it). I had to watch all the other Championship games.”
JHT on January window: “It’s realistic to expect us to do some deals. The steps we have taken now we need to follow up with some further steps.”
JHT on Burnley: “They are solid and disciplined. They are a top team in lots of areas of the games. Like us, they are still taking steps. But what you can see if they are very solid and a great team.”
JHT: “We can expect the same game picture, where there will be moments in the game where they will dominate. We are prepared for that. The more we can dominate and be on the ball the better for us to create a good result.”
JHT on being back at Carrow Road: “We are glad about that, it’s our favourite place to be.”
