Well I was at the game and don’t even remember this incident

There was no fuss about it at the time. There was no mention by pundits, commentators or managers post match. There was no mention in media reports. There was absolutely no mention of it anywhere.

It’s very different, for example, to the Preston player biting someone in the neck which was doing the rounds on social media (and I’m not sure the FA did anything until it was) and this came to everyone’s awareness prompting the FA to act.

So I for one would like to understand what prompted them to go back through our game and look at this incident.

There is then obviously the further question of whether it’s a red card where we disagree.

And then further questions around how they managed to time the decision so perfectly to disrupt our match preparation yesterday but getting the verdict out quicker than usual.
