I think it's unfair to call this a moment of stupidity.

The other red could be seen as harsh but I agree that he didn't need to lunge in, and to then give the ref some s**t was pretty dumb.

I genuinely think he's been done here though. He was trying to block the run of an opposing player. It wasn't stupid, it's what footballers do, literally every game.
