🔰 Another lunchtime at Colney, as we await the boss for his thoughts ahead of the trip to Pompey

JHT on QPR result: “Without giving everything away, it was good for us to open up about where we are as a team. We have the feeling we are a good football team and we know how we can perform when at our best. It’s difficult as it’s about finding balance.”

JHT: “We have shown what we can do as a team to the fans and everybody. But we also need to improve on consistency.”

JHT: “I’m asking the players to do something which is completely new to them. We need to give time for this. Everything we do is still as a collective and we all need to be on the same page.”

JHT: “As a coach you always need to be pragmatic to win games. We have ambitions to be a clear football team where ever you see us play, that’s where we have to go. We still build towards this, but sometimes we need to take a step back to improve.”

JHT: “As a coach you always need to be pragmatic to win games. We have ambitions to be a clear football team, so that wherever you see us play it’s the same. We still build towards this, but sometimes we need to take a step back to improve.”

JHT on set-pieces: “I think the players have been solid at defending set-pieces, it’s a league where lots of teams are strong. We have to accept that and work on solutions to how to solve this. At QPR we gave away lots of throw-ins, which led to these set-piece chances.”

JHT on Nick Stanley: “Everything is collective. If you want to blame one guy, then it’s me. Everything we do is as a group of coaches and analysts. All the coaches have responsibilities.”

JHT on Kellen Fisher at LB: “Against QPR it didn’t work, but against West Brom it did. Sometimes it’s down to the opposition and how they press us, but also the individual’s performance.”

JHT on Portsmouth: “They will look at the QPR game and see where they can hurt us. We are aware of that and have made a game plan for that. It’s a difficult task for the guys, but we are well prepared.”

JHT: “If we don’t succeed then we need to be better, that’s my principal. That’s what we have spoken about. How I see football is to kill the momentum of the stadium by keeping possession.”

JHT confirms ‘no further squad issues’ coming out of Saturday’s game
