i know someone called Hunt and when he was young his neighbour used to call him Mike

this wound him up no end and he would always ask "why do call me Mike when you know my name is Alan?" and the neighbour would grin and say "oh is it? sorry Mike" and laugh. The neighbour moved away before Alan was old enough to get it.
