It's an entirely separate thing from the football pyramid. Or maybe whoever wins the new top-six-less EPL gets a season in it or something idk, promoval would not work though cos of the money so they'd have to win the EPL again to stay in the ESL or something idk.
The impact would be far less money for EPL and Champs clubs let alone everyone else. This in turn mandates a fairer sharing of revenues, which would be diminshed, down the pyramid, which will drastically affect player salaries, and football will be much more like it used to be in the 70s and 80s - less technical, less skilled, much more fun in terms of competitions and the EPL would become much more like the chumps in that the top team could realistically be beaten by the bottom team on their day.
Or something.
But money and the EPL structure has sucked the life out of football and some kind of major system shock like this, even it means less money for everyone other than the top six, is what we need. It would be messy for four or five years but would then settle down.
Let them have their shiny things and let them have their money and let them f**k right the f**k off and leave the rest of us to play proper football again.
(No this is not a coherent, thought-through position)
