Must have told this story here before but I had a Mondeo once

thought "it's running a bit slow, AHA, I know how to fix that!", got home, dug out the chalk and strobe and whatnot and set about finding the points.

Well over an hour later I gave up and drove to a garage saying "don't need to book it in mate but an embarrassing problem, I can't find the points, could you just tell me where they are please?"

He looked quite pityingly at me and said "cars haven't had points in them for X years", where I can't remember what X is now, he didn't add "grandad" but he might as well have done.

I felt like Mel Smith RIP trying to buy a gramophone without silly things like woofers and tweeters.
