- Brilliant away crowd in numbers and volume. We probably don't get the credit we deserve, especially in view of the distances we travel. Seen lots of praise from Baggies fans.
- Conversely, that might be perhaps the quietest ground I've ever visited. Barely made a noise. Bad acoustics or are they just quiet?
- I really liked the tactical tweaks that Thorup made. Teams had been exploiting Doyle a lot with that diagonal pass so moving Fisher across really helped. Even then Fellows was a handful and still got one assist from several dangerous crosses.
- This also freed up Stacy to return which gave us another attacking option and led to one of the goals.
- Forson had a better game but for me he lacks urgency off the ball with his closing and pressing, he just kind of jogs around. Compare to Gibbs when he came on.
- Crnac still looks lost, especially at centre forward, but hopefully will come good. He has a nice touch but is not yet on the same wavelength as his teammates.
- At times we had more of a 442 shape and I think that Thorup went there not to lose, so that worked.
- Doyle continued his renaissance and I would say is undroppable. Especially when you take into consideration the blocking / heading stats that someone posted here the other day. That means that either Cordoba or Doyle doesn't start imho.
- Fisher is great but had a couple of lapses where he was loose with the ball. E.g. right at the end where they had one last free kick.
- So good to have Gunn back.
- We are still a bit lightweight. It felt like they won way more of the 50:50s. We again have a squad of technicians rather than meaty Champ players.
- All in all a great game which either team could have won. Onwards and upwards.
