Within a couple of years our shop was doing very well so we gave ourselves a limit to buy

A decent car each. Business partner bought an Esprit Tutbo (still the fastest I’ve been in a car, 145 just after the Newmarket bypass) and I got my dream car, a 1970 280SL “Pagoda” which was rather slow and kept me legal.
Just for the record, two year later we were skint again and sold the cars for a loss and I bought a 1983 Talbot Avanger for £150!🤣
