The location? I’m going to have to differ on that.

Middle of a large commercial zone, designed in the 90s/00s for cars, yet ironically with nowhere convenient to park? No pubs so everyone goes to a Harvester? Give me a city centre (or nearby) stadium every time.

As for the stadium, it’s decent when you’re at your seat / standing place, looks nice on TV (that’s what it’s designed for), but the concourse is small and barren. Reminded both of us of a cattle shed - something we know lots about, obvs. Basically reinforced in me my opinion that fans at the ground are basically there to provide atmosphere for TV viewers, as a commodity but no more.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed yesterday, the atmosphere was good and we had a good time. It was a positive that we had the outside area (but again, only one burger van, they could have had more catering easily). But overall, for me it’s just more evidence that modern football is just like society in general, bottom line rules everything and people are just consumers treated as a resource. If that makes me naive and ignorant to think that shouldn’t be the case, so be it.
