on that...

i had another read of twtd post-man city to see where their heads were now at and though they're rightly impressed theyve virtually replaced their 1st xi which was badly needed, the one position where the new guy hasnt usurped the old is star man leif davis, for his obvious attacking prowess. he's there TAA, great going forward but a bit bobbins as an actual defender defending. the remarks about his (and other old stalwarts at the back) weaknesses was that he struggles against tricky, pacy wingers!!! strong, fast forwards too for the likes of wolfenden.

so that won't be a problem then as there aren't many of those in the prem...!!

had him pegged back vs liv & man city - though ive heard he shouldve had a var pen at the weekend - havent watched HL yet; motd ignored it much to their annoyance!

theyve replaced well in terms of the new guys ought to be upgrades in their positions but we're still talking players with little experience in the top flight and thats a lot of gelling to be done - a term that puts the fear into them as it was last used by Paul Cook apparently when he got rid of all their champ players and brought in a load of L1 & L2s!

i'm in danger of sounding obsessed at this point and its true ive taken great interest and will continue to do so throughout the season - unless they truly do click and climb the table. for many years i didnt even think to look at twtd as they were a lower league irrelevance, so its refreshing for me to have my rivalry restoked. i grew up in lowestoft surrounded by these pricks, you never forget the s**te you put up with through those years...

i think it does help having an ippo cousin too, as we're regularly chatting football in private, other teams & england etc. the lad works for sky too, so kind of has an insiders perspective. good level headed lad too, so i cant really bait him and it does temper how i approach itfc related news - at least in those conversations.
