Leeds are the only truly big club in the league.

We're one of a bunch of "good" clubs and should be challenging for promotion.

Burnley, Sheffield United are the other definite good clubs in the sense that they're reasonably well run haven't collapsed on relegation and are "going again".

Is what you mean more about the team or club? Because yes the team is in a fallow state after two successive unsuitable managers through a sporting director who bottled his own plan and hitting the reset to start a new plan.

Maybe the managers weren't unsuitable bit the plan with them (tinker Farkes squad a teeny bit) was wrong.
