i watched man city & ippo opening games - ippos the full thing.
haaland already off the mark and oh so casually, business as usual. didnt even matter that rodri isnt playing at the mo. and that was against chelsea not just any midtable mugs. i even watched his post match interview to see where his head was at. guy's chill as f**k. and working on his weaknesses thanks to pep's demands.
ipswich have fooled themselves into thinking they can take it to teams. they did this against liverpool, fluffed the chances they created then ran out of puff after an hour and a liverpool tactical tweak at half time had them picked apart. and this is the oh-so-super-fit team they were bragging about, which ive been reading on twtd they have dismissed that it was against a top three team and theyll be able to match the midtable teams - fulham (their following opponents) will be fitter than them and theyre best priced at 11/2 to go down.
now we all know what will happen when teams are foolish enough to try and go at man city, leaving space in behind...
i also think this is early enough and with liverpool only being a two-nil rather than an annihilation, that mckenna's self assuredness/arrogance/cockiness will mean he wont revert to a more pragmatic approach in only their second game.
its also a good time for man city as they haven't started in the new champions (super) league yet or any of the other cups, so are as fresh as youre gonna get coming out of a tournament summer & preseason.
as some others have said on here, ipswich have bought well seemingly for the champ in 25/26, with those loans with pretty big obligatory purchases a decent move as going down means they dont splash any more cash & (somehow) staying up meaning they can afford it - but as someone linked on here the other night, that table of prem experience which included all but the most recent signings i believe, shows how little these players had played, even if they come from clubs that play/have recently played in the prem.
you see, this isnt just rival-bashing bravado, i fully believe they will get torn apart tomorrow. at least by five or six but i reckon its all set up nicely for an all-time prem record SMASH.
ps. there's no way i'm putting money on the scum to win, i'm not cheering them pricks on. betting on two draws in the derbies was the limit.
