I was thinking about how we get fixated on tragedies that involve rich people

Eg. last year we had the submarine thing.

Is it just the media? I don't think so because they can see the traffic it generates.

Is is schadenfreude? Maybe?

Or perhaps the more general thing that rich people are mostly protected from bad s**t in life and yet it can still happen to them and that makes it more shocking?

There is something going on.
