in my loooong experience CO's tend to flit from mentallists to solid blokes

it's like a cyclical thing, one dose of insanity followed by a dose of common sense. both have their own merits and pitfalls. can't think of a dose of consecutive nutjobs.

officer's commanding are invariably always s**thouses making their way in their career and gettting the hard corners knocked off as they progress up their careers or they crash and burn. in peacetime anyway, op tours and beyond alters that a tad when they have to work for their money.
