With respect, surely Knapper et al are looking to buy players to fill gaps in the squad

based upon how JHT wants to play. If they aren't looking to fill a certain position right now, then either a) we already have players in that position that we want to keep or can't move on or b) that isn't a position where we need anyone in JHT's system.
