it's a messy old pool to jump into

a wise old head once told me when i got promoted to warrant officer was to keep your f**king powder dry son and never believe or react on the first account you hear of a new event.

cynic in me would say that an experienced cop would have waited until the f**ker was back in the cell and then got the retaliatory dig in. but we live in a post everard era so i really can't square that s**t away.
