I think you are totally downplaying their quality.

You don't accumulate that many points with a bad squad.

Again it sounds like you totally think coaching is a bigger factor than I believe it to be.
Why is it when a coach seemingly works a miracle with journeymen he can't seem to replicate that elsewhere.
Lambert, Wilder...I could go on...

I think you will struggle to name a champs side that finished in the top two that did not have a quality squad.
