This could go either way

Either the race for the Dem nomination sucks all the coverage out of the Trump campaign and a new fresh face excites part(s) of the electorate hitherto unengaged and wins.

Or it’s a disorganised clusterf**k and Trump just leaves them alone to collapse on their own and comfortably wins.

I don’t see Kamala as reigniting things in the required way yet she is quite likely to be the one they choose. Whitmer/Newsom/Shapiro would all do better and Michelle Obama would do best of all (but I think is genuinely uninterested much to her credit).
