Vice-President to begin with in 2008, and best Dem candidate for the top job in 2020 after the Hillary horror show.

Only natural that he seeks re-election, but has gone off a steep cliff in the last 12 montsh it seems.

Dropping out is (I presume?) unprecedented, Harris not wildly popular and absolutely no-one else has cut through or has a reasonable nationwide platform. US politicians are pretty much entirely local... until they're not.

The election is in FOUR MONTHS.

It's a clusterf**k - bt hard to know how they could have avoided it.
