I'm not being tribalistic about it...

...they have grifted, plundered & profiteered from all but their fellow 1% for fourteen years now, giving zero f**ks as the electorate were not holding them to account. Now finally they've taken just enough piss for enough to notice and take action.

I have Tory voters in my friends & family; one I know is also a member. I don't hate the basic concept of small-c conservatism in broad terms and can see why it works for many people; on many key issues though it goes against how i think & feel, but i don't see those family members as evil or the enemy. i do see how the tabloid press has had its effect on certainly one of those potentially Reform voting family members and how a privileged lifestyle will likely see the Conservative party member never vote differently despite what theyve done to our country and how little regard they have for him.

I was only ever a member of Labour during a period where I felt they actually represented my values & beliefs. Once they didn't I cancelled my membership. I've voted Labour, Lib Dem & Green over the years, depending on how things were at the time.

I won't be voting Labour this time round when up until the campaigns started I had thought I was gonna hold my nose and vote for them to get the Tories out. I'm not going to go into further details as to why, it's four in the morning and i want to keep calm and carry on (with my night's internetting elsewhere).

I agree nothing much will change, and give Starmer some credit for admitting his hands are tied with a lot of issues that need addressing.
