The problem isn’t a lack of Palmer

It’s playing a full back alongside Rice, and a natural number 8 behind Kane. The spine of the team is wrong, and so it doesn’t matter whether you play Foden or Palmer or Gordon out wide.

The right answer has always been to play Bellingham deeper and one of our creative players (whether Foden or Palmer or in future Maddison) behind Kane. But we won’t do that until we have a new coach in place.
