I am trying to keep track of things in France:

So the far right did exceptionally well in the EU elections. This is essentially what mbappe is (rightly IMHO) opposing

So Macron called an election

Then the leader of the socialists - Glucksmann? - made some pre conditions for a left alliance that nobody else agreed on and basically flushed his career down the toilet.

Then Ciotti, of the Republicans, said they would do a deal with le Pen. Nobody agreed with him but he had the keys to the HQ and barricaded himself in there but then the deputy also had keys and kicked him out but he changed the twitter password and has control.

The Marechal had some agreement with Zemmour but she screwed him over on live TV, joining le Pen and tearing - is it reconquete - apart. Zemmour throws a massive strop.

Then the polls show that Macron isn't leading in any seat in France and looking to make Sunak's predicament look like a complete walk in the park.

So far right polling 360 seats, left 210 and Macron 3...
