The "concern" is that he still does not appear to have sorted the midfield

That display last night was so similar in some ways (result aside obviously) to the games v Croatia at the World Cup, Italy at Wembley and also the Nations League game when we ere given the run around.

He favours athletes over players with a bit of craft/creativity and who enable you to control the tempo with the ball. Thats why he doesn;t like Grealish and Maddison but loves players like Gallagher or TAA. i had hoped that Wharton's little cameo recently might have been a light bulb moment for Southgate but it appears not as he's not had a sniff since.

We should not still be "experimenting" with the midfield at a major championship when he's had about 4 years to try and sort this.
