He put him in that 10 role and based the entire game plan on playing through him. So Dortmund right from the start just isolated him and made Real play from the wings and as wonderful as their wide attackers are, they're not the type to put in a cross from wide.
He kept Bellingham rigidly in that area for the entire first half. It was only half way through the second half that he started to drift wide and deeper to get on the ball, and that's when it started to turn.
