if they (or anyone) wants to spend more, they'll have to tax more presumably

unless they borrow it (pre covid maybe, but now it turns out that shutting the shop for a couple of years was a bit of a problem, but let's not mention that) or find a way to get people to work/produce/earn more, or just let lots of people into the country and say hurrah for a bigger economy
