Ink is a big consideration if doing volume.

I think most basic Canon printers are pretty good plus before you buy check out the availability of generic ink cartridges on Amazon as this will save you a fortune in running costs.

If you need hundreds of pages of letters then go with something like a brother laser printer.

If you need to do thousands of shipping labels per month then most thermal printers like Zerbras or Rollo;s are bullet proof and almost never go wrong with no running costs outside of the bulk labels
