There's a new football podcast called 'It Was What It Was' with Jonathan Wilson

and Rob Draper and in one of the episodes they discuss the Arsenal v Liverpool title decider in 1989.

It's really good and they talk quite a bit about the TV arrangements for the game and the time more generally.

I was 18 and the total novelty value of live league games at the time is something my son of a similar age cannot really comprehend.
