There's definitely a player in there.
I think confidence is a much bigger thing for him than even most other young footballers. I think playing at Scottish level where the oppo is weaker will have helped him with that and the challenge for Jess, if Idah comes back, is to keep pumping his confidence (Matron!) even while not necessarily starting every week.
Alternatively if we were to get £5m for him that would represent excellent business frankly and in hindsight a good call to give him the long contract (I suspect that in intself was an attempt to bolster his confidence a little though a potentially expensive one which might easily have backfired horribly).
