Asked a mate of mine who's a Spurs fan this very question the other day

he doesn't think there's any chance of them making the champions league. But when I pushed him on it he said that he'd definitely rather lose tomorrow, even if that made the difference for them and 4th place. And he thought that pretty much all Spurs fans would be in the same place.
