The only real reason for a smart meter

Is if you have good solar and want to sell back to the grid

Otherwise they’re just a hassle

And it’s very difficult to get them installed - Octopus have been stalling us for a year in the Highlands now (which is the one house where I DO want a smart meter, because of solar. I’m so pissed off with them that I’m now installing batteries, so that my surplus will be stored not sold back).
