The Mrs brought it up as a destination for our hols but her geography is poor

I'm sure it's totally safe, but it sort of blows my mind that it can be with its borders with Syria, Iraq, Iran, Georgia (huge protests), Armenia (had increased hostilities with Azerbaijan haven't they?), amd Ukraine (and specifically Crimea) across the water.

I showed her it on a map and she starting looking at the balearics.
