But that's because I struggle with the 20 in addition to the 80, I seem to be able to do one or the other but trying to do both I get injured, but I am quite a streaky runner and would probably benefit from having more consistency all year round rather than a big increase in January like i've done the last couple of years.
With your marathon being next spring, I wonder whether training in the short term for a shorter distance may be good? A good 10km or half still requires the speed and endurance and you could add on the mileage as a ramp up 16 weeks out?
