Just towards the end it felt like the wheels were starting to come off

He was and is a t**t but he and us then were the perfect match by some synergistic process I don't remotely understand. He's never done as well since anywhere else and while I bear him no particular ill will I don't think he will ever get a serious job again, or do well in it if he did. He always came across as a dickhead in interviews, at the time it was very much "yes but he's our dickhead" and results on the pitch forgave a lot of sins.
