Those figures are miles off

it is based on estimating that we have a total player wage bill of just ovre £17m.

In the last club accounts the total wage bill was £118m. That includes non playing staff as well, but obviously playing staff makes up the vast majority of it.

In our last Championship seasons with published accounts we had a wage bill of £67m in 2020-21 and £54m in 2018-19.

Sargent was something like a £10m signing in the Premier League. He will probably be on 4x that amount even in the Championship.
