Re Aarons v Stacey

As mentioned in the OP, this is very much initial impressions but if Stacey carries on impressing, great.

My opinion is Aarons is probably a better all round footballer but fits in a certain way of playing. Perfect for Farke where full backs are not just out balls but essential for the overall build up and shape, and where attacking play is focussed on passing the ball into a central position. So we saw Aaron's dribbling or intricately passing the ball into the area a lot, rather than crossing.

Last season Aaron's was used as an out ball a lot due to our inadequacy in playing the ball out a position that meant he was isolated on receiving it often. He is also not someone who wants to blindly charge up the line and cross it, which is why he fits Farke more, but that's what we needed a rb to do last season because we were not creative enough.

This year Wagner hopefully has a bit more of a shape in play but it is clear Stacey is not massively involved in the early build up as Aarons was at his best, and when he gets forward he has been putting early crosses in.

So I think Stacey offers more in this current system
