I started drinking early today, some odd old news but they will never get...

I told them years ago about thyroid when I was in hospital during the 2nd or whatever time. They said they couldn't do anything about it because of my other medication. I dunno if I can be bothered to take the help anymore. I'm so used to being knacked and having given up. Who to believe? The new doctor who has suddenly found this when it was the same 20 years ago? Hard to know who to believe in life. No idea what to do, I shall have a think tomoz.

Subject: Blood test results

Dear Andrew

Your recent blood tests have picked up a number of issues which need addressing.

1) Your HbA1c testing for diabetes is elevated in to the prediabetic range at 46 and I will ask the diabetic nurses to be in touch with you regarding this.

2) Your vitamin d level is low , which is due to lack of sunlight and so we will prescribe a high dose course of Vitamin d for you.

3) Your thyroid levels show that you have an underactive thyroid gland so we will also prescribe some thyroxine for you. Is there any family history of thyroid disease in the family ?

Your cholesterol is also high and there are some milder abnormalities in your liver function tests.

I think it would be helpful if we could meet for an appointment to talk further. I would be happy to visit on Friday at home if you think you could cope with this or the alternative is for you to come to an appointment here if your brother could come with you or perhaps you could come directly in a taxi.

Kind regards

Dr Imogen Churchman
