Yes I think my point is

There is no recognition on the part of the fans that when your club is bought by a country, it’s whole identity changes (having loads more money is one aspect of this)

Hence, you might as well be saying ‘I supported Rochdale before so I’ve seen the shire’ as ‘I’ve followed manu city through the hard times’ because essentially you were supporting a different club

IMHO anyway
